PLAC/CVI proudly present a live Zoom educational session, “Gene Editing to Treat Hyperlipidemia and to Prevent Coronary Heart Disease,” on Tuesday, August 4th at 6:00PM. The featured speaker is Dr. Kiran Musunuru, Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kiran’s laboratory is using a new technology called “gene editing” to modify genes in the liver to permanently reduce a person’s cholesterol levels and protect against heart attack and stroke with a single shot whose effects would last for a lifetime. If it works well, it could be offered to the general population as a “vaccination.”
Registration is required to attend.
